Over the the years, I have been lucky to start, and miserably fail in several projects. It is during this failure that I have also learnt and gone on to undertake other successful projects. Take a look at some of the projects and businesses I’m currently involved in.

Vance Motors is a company that was established in 2004 with the primary business of selling used and new cars. It later expanded to car hire where it offered self driver vehicles to individuals and corprates and soon after offered transport services where a client would get a complete package of car, driver and fuel charged based on the need.

Kuna Vijana is a youth initiative registered as an NGO that seeks to change the mentality the society has towards the youth by empowering the youth socially and economically using talent to enable growth and income generation given the limited employment opportunities. Kuna Vijana has conducted several events in the bid to tap, utilize and expose talent in Nairobi, Nakuru, Eldoret, Nakuru, Mombasa, Bungoma, Kericho, Thika and Nyeri. Kuna Vijana has also held workshop to equip the youth with skills such as entreprenual, conflict resolution just to mention a few. We have also engaged in community work by helping and visiting children homes in Nairobi, Machakos and also internally displaced people in Mai Mahiu since 2009.

Wanadamu Swahili for human beings but in this context means wana (they have) damu (blood) is an initiative of Kuna Vijana that seeks to reduce the number of people dying as a result of not having enough or any blood to zero by having a database of willing blood donors who will be called upon in an event someone needs hospital. Wanadamu was conceived on July 4th 2011 and has of mid November attended to over 200 cases in Nairobi, Nakuru, Eldoret, Kisumu, Mombasa, Meru and Nyahururu with a growing database of over 6,000 willing donors. Wanadamu is currently doing both online and manual registration exercises to increase the capacity of the database so that the team can continue responding to all appeal successfully. Other projects and civic education exercises are in the pipeline.

Vance Digital Solutions (DS) is an arm of Vance Consult that seeks to help our clients implement some of the solutions we recommend. We believe a good website and an effective social media engagement is one of the fundamentals that can make a brand’s desired goals achievable at a low cost. More to that, the same brands may needs things like business cards, T – Shirts, Posters etc designed and printed. Instead of outsourcing as we were doing in 2012, we now have a in house team that can do website design, content creation, social media, design and printing jobs at a better price.
